  • What is SPC Flooring?
SPC flooring is a type of luxury vinyl flooring with a stone composite core. It is also known as rigid core or engineered vinyl flooring. The core is typically made from a mixture of polyvinyl chloride, stabilizers, and natural limestone powder. SPC flooring is manufactured in four or five layers, depending on whether the backing is foam or cork. The backing is often added for comfort and insulation. SPC floors are thinner than typical WPC because stone is denser than wood. Owing to the limestone core, SPC floors are durable, with typical warranty periods running 25 years.
  • What are the Disadvantages of SPC Flooring?
Now you know more about SPC flooring and its benefits, the question is are there any downsides to be aware of? Like all types of flooring, there are some disadvantages to installing SPC flooring. However, the pros outweigh the cons. One of the disadvantages is that they won’t add significant value to the home. Buyers still prefer real hardwood flooring. So, if you are adding new flooring before you sell, you might want to consider hardwood flooring to add value to the property. The core of an SPC plants/tile is made of solid material. This thick, durable core helps to reduce noise and makes walking more pleasant. However, you should always remember that SPC flooring comes in a wide range of qualities. A strong core may not always be present in low-quality SPC flooring. Of course, this means that a less durable SPC core will have less soundproofing.
  • What is SPC flooring made from?
SPC flooring is an acronym for Stone Polymer Composite flooring. Unlike traditional click vinyl flooring, which is made of 100% PVC, SPC flooring is a combination of a blended rigid core of PVC (Polymers) and stone powder. This makes it heavier, more stable, and better than traditional 100% PVC click vinyl flooring.
